1st try on using PS4 to create this kind of hand drawings.
As appeared inside Vol1 of The Aqua Age - 水色時代
The main difficulty was to draw the outlines in PS4,
the main tools I used was the AirBrush + Layers + masks.
Surprisingly, it is quite easy to paint with the airbrush, however,
it is a bit impossible to blend the color afterwards, the machine
is too slow for this operation. It turned out that I have to
manually airbrush everything on top of each other.
As I am used to paint with pastel, no blending is a real
challenge for me.
The background was done with KPT3 with 2 alpha masks
for the fading effect.

Base on the official EVA information book, practice on using Painter.
Similar to PS CG, starting from creating outlines in Freehand 4,
then import lines into Painter for masks.
I used both layers & non-layers techniques for drawing.
Even though layers are extremely troublesome, however it could made the drawings
very flexible.
Compare to the Artists in Japan like MIYA, they all mastered Painter & Photoshop
very well. I wish they could could be my teacher and teach me how to draw like them too.

Misato in Eva, she's my favorite character.
I used layers &masks to combine different parts of the face & clothing.
This was my first try on using Painter for bitmaped kind of illustrations.
Using brushes & pastels electronically is still a very difficult task for me.

Misato again, but with different expression.
This time I used masks alone to combine different parts of the face & clothing.
I find it quicker but with the sacrifice of the flexibility in correcting
mistakes since layers is not used.
I wonder how MIYA could draw those illustrations so nicely,
I have to spend about 1-2 days for each of these drawings,
and they do not even looks 1/2 as good as MIYA's illustrations.
